Fire Movers ("we," "us," "our") respects your privacy. This policy explains what personal information we collect, why we collect it, and how we protect it. It applies to firemovers.ca, our phone and email communications, our social media pages, and our Facebook and Instagram lead forms.

We follow British Columbia's Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA) and, where it applies, Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA).

1. Information we collect

Information you give us

• Your name, phone number and email address
• Move details, such as your moving date, pickup and delivery addresses, home size, items to be moved, and building details (elevator, parking, stairs)
• Anything else you choose to tell us through our quote form, chat assistant, phone, email, text message, or social media

Information from our Facebook and Instagram lead forms

When you fill out one of our forms on Facebook or Instagram (for example, to get our free moving checklist), Meta shares the answers you submit with us.

Information collected automatically

When you visit firemovers.ca, we and our service providers may collect basic technical information such as your device and browser type, pages viewed, and how you arrived at our site. We use cookies and similar tools, including the Meta Pixel and website analytics, to understand how our site is used and to measure and improve our advertising.

2. How we use your information

We use your information to:

• Give you a quote and schedule, plan and complete your move
• Contact you about your quote, booking or move
• Send you the free resources you requested, such as our moving checklist or playbook
• Send you moving tips, offers and updates, only if you have agreed to receive them
• Improve our website, services and advertising
• Meet our legal, tax and accounting obligations

3. Marketing messages

We only send marketing emails and text messages when we have your consent or where Canada's Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL) otherwise permits it. Every marketing email includes a way to unsubscribe, and you can also opt out at any time by emailing book@firemovers.ca. Opting out of marketing does not affect messages about a move you have booked.

4. Chat assistant

Our website includes an AI chat assistant that answers questions about moving with us. Messages you type in the chat are processed by our third-party technology provider to generate replies. Please do not share sensitive information, such as payment card numbers, in the chat.

5. Who we share information with

We do not sell your personal information.

We share information only when needed to run our business, with:

• Service providers who help us operate, such as website hosting, email, scheduling, payment processing, analytics, and advertising platforms (including Meta)
• Partners you ask us to refer you to, such as our container unloading partners, and only with your permission
• Authorities, when required by law

Some of our service providers may store or process information outside British Columbia or outside Canada, including in the United States. When that happens, your information may be subject to the laws of that country.

6. How long we keep information

We keep personal information only as long as we need it for the purposes above, or as long as the law requires (for example, for tax records). When we no longer need it, we delete it or make it anonymous.

7. How we protect information

We use reasonable physical, technical and administrative safeguards to protect your personal information from loss, theft and unauthorized access. No method of transmission over the internet is completely secure, but we work to protect your information.

8. Your choices and rights

You can ask us to:

• Show you the personal information we hold about you
• Correct information that is wrong or out of date
• Stop sending you marketing messages
• Withdraw your consent to other uses, subject to legal or contractual limits

You can also limit cookies through your browser settings and control ad preferences in your Facebook and Instagram settings.

9. Children

Our services are intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The latest version will always be posted on this page with its effective date.
